Open Studio

Langley Arts Council OPEN STUDIO PROGRAM

Director: Betty Spackman

Visual Art  -  Music -  Writing

langley bc arts culture heritage history events attractionsWhat is an Open Studio? The Open Studio is meant as a supervised time of art making with other artists – learning as much from each other as from the instructor.  It is a time of instruction, community building, networking, mutual support – and fun!

These are not  media specific structured art ‘classes’. The participants bring their own materials and equipment and work on their own projects. A professional artist or a team of artists will be there to provide feedback, technical help and critique.  Participants are at different levels of experience and although it is suggested that you first take beginners level courses at Langley Continuing Education or other similar classes, you may come even as a raw beginner.

The Open Studios are meant to provide ongoing encouragement and development of emerging local artists. The instructor will offer help and exercises for those who don't know how to proceed with their work and give you honest and professional critique to help you process ideas and skills.

Place: The Open Studio Centre, 9048 Glover Road Fort Langley

Cost: Four 3 hour Studios for  $120.00 to be paid in advance.

(payable to Betty Spackman, PO Box 224, Fort Langley , BC. V1M 2R5)

Limit: 10 people per session
